Aspen Faith

Despite sickness and bad weather, we were able to get this precious little girl into the studio.  Aspen started out asleep but then woke up and wanted to see everything.  She gave me such sweet smiles and maybe a couple ornery grins too.  😅  She didn't really like being contained in the wraps and seemed happier with her feet left out so she could stretch.  But after she got her belly full, she succumbed to the warmth and the wraps and fell into a nice, deep sleep.  The little shower set is what did her in.  She was just too comfy to stay awake any longer.

I photographed Aspen's brother a couple of years ago.  When I have a returning family, I always check to see what blankets, wraps, and props I had previously used to see if I can incorporate any of those into the new session.  I was pleased that even though the colors we used with Aspen are different than what we used with her brother, I was still able to incorporate many of the same blankets and baskets.  😊

 

Gideon Arlo

I had so much fun with this little guy in my studio!  Gideon wouldn't sleep, but was quite content with watching me work.  I often caught him just staring off into space like he was trying to understand his life and why he's here.  It was seriously so dang cute!  He also had no interest in being contained.  He quickly and easily wiggled his way out of every swaddle I did.  😅

Matthew and Sisters

A couple weeks ago I was able to go visit Matthew's family as they were finally all home together so I could take pictures of him with his sisters.  He had turned 3 months old that day and had grown quite a bit since I last saw him.  I just love how expressive he is!  His sisters were obsessed with the doll bed I brought to put him in.  They couldn't believe how perfectly he fit on it.  They are already learning how to be good, helpful big sisters to this special little guy.

Prayers are so appreciated for this wonderful family as they continue to adjust and learn how to care for their precious boy.  💗

Matthew James Scott

 This session was one of the most special ones I've been asked to do, and became the first newborn session done at Parkview's PICU.  The day I went to the PICU, Matthew was one month old and had spent most of that month in the PICU.  Despite having such a rough start to life outside of the womb, he smiled so much while I was there!  I really wasn't sure what to expect for doing a session at the hospital, but in the end, it worked out quite well.  His mama had a couple of special blankets that we spread over his hospital bed as a backdrop.  💙

Matthew is still in the hospital as he continues to have difficulty breathing.  Prayers are appreciated for him and his family!  After he finally gets home and settled, I'll be doing a short follow-up session to include his sisters.  😊

Jack's Cake Smash

This special cake was from For Goodness Cakes in Fort Wayne and was just perfect!  I decided to make a teepee because I figured it would be a simple, fun project.  It took a bit longer than I anticipated, but it looks great and added so much to this woodland theme.  I initially intended to use fake foliage, but none of the stuff I had looked that good.  So I called up my parents and took an impromptu visit to their house to gather real greenery from their trees.  My mom helped me gather some pine cones as well.  I really love how this set turned out!

Jack has gotten so tall and so far it looks like he'll be a red head!  He didn't seem to care for the icing, and he especially did not like touching the icing as he couldn't get it off of his fingers, but once we got to the chocolate cake underneath, he was more interested and clearly enjoyed the cake.  After he was done with cake, he got cleaned up and enjoyed some time playing with the stuffed animals.  Isn't he just the sweetest, cutest little guy?!
