Tarcil's 3rd Costume Edition eBook!
This is from one of my other blogs which focuses on my little hamster named Tarcil. I am so excited to announce this that I had to share it on here too! I have been working on this for a few months. This will be the final eBook I make of Tarcil, so you don't want to miss it!
This eBook is 60 pages of Tarcil in adorable handmade costumes! Read the stories of each character he dressed up as! You can purchase this eBook for $2.99 on Amazon! :) Below you can see a sample of what is inside! I thought the St. Patrick's Day and Easter were perfect for this time of year! I hope you enjoy this as much as I do! Tarcil is really enjoying being spoiled when he is awake, which isn't often. He is normally curled up, sleeping in his nest. He currently has his nest where I can see him, which is super convenient for me to check on him every couple hours. I truly appreciate all the well-wishes for Tarcil! The love and support I have gotten from everyone is such a blessing!
Thank you for your support!

Blankets and Baskets
This is a sample of some of the baskets and blankets that I love to work with! I often get more when I find things I like, so this will never be a complete showcase of what I have to offer. As you can tell, I love the fluffy blankets!! Sometimes I buy fabric I like and hem the sides to make my own blankets.

Cheesecloth Wraps
These cheesecloth wraps are the reason that wanted to dye fabric in the first place! I wanted my own for photographing newborns and since I like DIY projects, I thought this was something good to try. I really love how they turned out! This has definitely been a fun and useful learning experience!

Knit Wraps
I bought two different types of knit fabrics for a $1/yd so that I could do some experimenting with them. I really love the way they all turned out! One set took the color better and are much brighter, deeper colors, while the other absorb the dye as much and is a lighter color. I really like both sets so much!

Lace Wraps
I really love the way this lace turned out! Some of the colors were surprising, but for the most part, I get exactly what I wanted. I did all of this with Rit Dye and you can check out yesterday's post for details on that process. I had added some vinegar to the mix since the lace is a poly blend. I think that is why some of the colors were unexpected. But overall, I am so happy with the results! I love DIY projects like this!

Dying Fabrics
So, I had a lot of fun dying fabric! It was fairly easy and straight forward, but definitely still lots of work. I don't want to claim to have perfected the method, or that I could have done this on my own. I found a blog with instructions and followed them. If you are interested in reading for yourself, you can go to: https://juliannaarendashphotography.wordpress.com/2012/05/24/how-to-dye-cheesecloth-for-newborn-wraps/
I didn't really change anything about the instructions on that blog, because they worked well for me.
I found that empty ice cream containers are a nice size to use and are convenient because they have a handle.
I did everything outside on my deck on some strangely warm winter days.
This isn't everything I made, but it is from the first day I worked on this project. :)
